Punjab Technical University one of the most reputed universities. Each year a large number of candidates apply for the Combined Entrance Test, which is conducted by the University. This exam is also known as PTU CET. The main reason to conduct such examination each year is to provide the valuable seats for UG programs to the deserving candidates. The application form can be downloaded from the official site. Once the form is filled completely, then you have to upload the scanned pass port size photo and scanned signature. After that complete payment section and submit it carefully.
Selection Pattern – For selecting the candidates, their performance in written test and interview will be judged.
Examination Pattern-PTU CET 2017 will be having questions based on the subjects of Chemistry, arithmetic, and Physics. The paper will be held in English medium only.
The candidates will be considered to submit their application form after the last date, only under extreme circumstances with a late fee of Rs. 1000/-.

The PTU CET 2016 exam pattern includes syllabus from the 12th standard. The candidates are required to prepare from subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as per the requirements of the course programs.
It consists of five separate sessions and the first 3 sessions comprise of objective type questions in core subjects. There are descriptive type of questions that include short answer questions and some numerical examples. The 4th session is to check the candidate’s proficiency in their local language Punjabi. The Architectural aptitude is included in the last session and is only for the students applying for B. Arch course. This entrance examination is always in English language.
To be eligible for PTU CET 2016, the candidates must pass the 10 2 examination with Maths, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects.
For the B.Tech. Courses the candidates must successfully complete 10 2 or other equivalent examinations with physics and Maths as the main subjects and Computer science, chemistry, biotechnology or Biology (any one) as an optional subject.
Candidates who have done a diploma in Engineering stream from Punjab State Board of Technical Education, Chandigarh or a Certificate/Diploma course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal or such Examinations from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education are also eligible for PTUCET examination.
For the B.Arch courses the candidates should score a minimum of 50% marks in their (10 2 or other equivalent examination with Mathematics and English as the main subjects. Candidates who have done 3 years diploma in Architecture scoring a minimum of 50% marks are also eligible to apply for the B.Arch. courses.
For the B. Pharm courses, the candidates should score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the 10 2 or other equivalent examination with chemistry and physics as the compulsory subjects and Computer Science, Bio-Technology or mathematics as the optional subjects.
Those who have done a diploma course in pharmacy from an institute affiliated to Punjab Technical Education and Industrial Training and have scored 50% marks are also eligible to apply for the course.
The lateral entry admission to various universities is governed by the respective eligibility criteria from any other University. Therefore, 15% seats in each college-Admission are based on the AIEEE merit; the students who are applying under this category need not to take CET.
However, they must fill up the CET admission application form of PTU and submit application before the due date. The AIEEE score is valid for candidates who are residents of states other than Punjab.
