Just three years after change in JEE Exam, the Ministry Of Human Resource (MHRD) is now thinking to massive change in JEE 2018 Exam. To boost the number of students in IIT's, HRD minister Prakash Javadaekar is expecting to meet with IIT members on an issue concerning to National Authority for Testing (NAT).
National Authority for Testing exam is aimed at changing the way of entrance exams to IITs and other top ranking colleges under the central government are conducted. Consequently, HRD minister is mulling to establish NAT, which is aimed at assessing the abilities of candidates before they appear for JEE. HRD minister is thinking to introduce single test system for admissions in top institutes of India such as NIITs, IITs, GFTIs and IIITs. NAT exam is inspired from the SAT exam conducted in the United States for admission in diverse colleges.
Based on the marks obtained from NAT, candidates will be eligible for JEE Advanced. MHRD will meet IIT Council and will start working on the blueprint of NAT. The blueprint will comprise changes of entrance examination structure on which admissions are granted to as prestigious institutes of technologies as IIT and NITs are.
Major points on Nat Exam:
NAT will be conducted online four times in a year and it will test the analytical aptitude of the students instead of subject knowledge.
National Authority for Testing (NAT) exam will be conducted as a general aptitude test whose score will be used to shortlist candidates for diverse engineering programs.
The NAT 2018 exam will help in identifying aspirants scientific bent of mind and will help in reducing the student’s dependency on coaching Institutes.
