The MHT-CET or Common Entrance Test is an annual entrance exam conducted by the Government of Maharashtra. It is conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research ,,The Entrance Test will consist of one question paper with 200 objective type questions, each carrying 1(One) mark and total marks 200 from the subjects:
Physics - 50 Marks
Chemistry - 50 Marks
Biology - 100 Marks
Duration of the paper will be 3 hours.There will be no negative marking ,A candidate belonging to Open Category must have obtained not less than 50% (i.e. 150 out of 300) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination. A candidate belonging to constitutional reservation (Annex. B) and constitutional reservation with Person with Disability claim must have obtained not less than 40% (i.e. 120 out of 300) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination. Person with Disability in General category must secure not less than 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) taken together at the HSC (or equivalent) Examination.
MH CET / MHT CET Counselling through Centralized Admission Process - Steps:
Step 1 - Online Registration:
All Candidates are required to register online for participating in counsellig through CAP. Afterclicking below on "New Registration", candidates will be diredted to a page where they have to choose correct option for following questions:
Have you Appeared for MHT-CET : In case of Yes, candidates may proceed further. In case of No, choose the correct option for following question.
Have you Appeared for JEE (Main) 2016 Paper-1: In case of Yes, candidates may proceed further. In case of No, choose the correct option for following question.
Are You Foreign National/NRI/PIO/OCI/CIWGC/GoI Candidate: In case of Yes, candidates may proceed further. In case of No, candidates are not allowed to register for MH CET / MHT CET Counselling through CAP.
Step 2 - Registration Details:
After choosing appropriate option and clicking on "save and proceed", a new page will appear. Here candidates are required to enter their Personal Details, Communication Details, Security Question Details and have to Choose a Password. Candidates are required to fill the following details under this step of registration for MH CET / MHT CET Counselling through CAP:

The Password must be as per the following Password policy:
Password must be 8 to 13 character long.
Password must have at least one Upper case alphabet.
Password must have at least one Lower case alphabet.
Password must have at least one numeric value.
Password must have at least one special characters eg.!@#$%^&*-
Step 3 - Candidature Type Details:
In the Third Step of registration for Counselling of MHT CET through CAP, candidates have to choose any of the below mentioned categories:
Maharashtra - Type A: Candidate Passing S.S.C. (Std. X) AND H.S.C. (Std. XII) / Diploma / B.Sc. from Maharashtra State AND Candidate is Domiciled / Born in the State of Maharashtra.
Maharashtra - Type B: Does Not Satisfy as Type-A BUT Candidate / Father or Mother of the Candidate is Domiciled in the State of Maharashtra.
Maharashtra - Type C: Does Not Satisfy as Type-A and Type-B BUT Father or Mother of the Candidate is an Employee of the Government of India or Government of India Undertaking who has posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submitting the Application Form for CAP.
Maharashtra - Type D: Does Not Satisfy as Type-A, Type-B and Type-C BUT Father or Mother of the Candidate is an Employee or Retired Employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Maharashtra Government Undertaking.
Maharashtra - Type E: Candidate Passing S.S.C. (Std. X) AND / OR H.S.C. (Std. XII) / Diploma / B.Sc. from a recognised institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother Tongue is Marathi.
OMS: Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) Candidate having Indian Nationality.
J & K Migrant Candidate: Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidate : J-1 Type / J-2 Type / J-3 Type.
Foreign Students: Foreign National / Foreign Students.
NRI: Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Candidate.
PIO / OCI: Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
CIWGC: Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries.
GoI: Government of India (GoI) Nominee Candidate.
Step 4 - Qualification Details:
In this step of registration for MHT CET Counselling through CAP, candidates will be required to enter the subject wise and overall marks in class 10th or equivalent and in class 12th or equivalent. Candidates will also be required to mention their board of both the exams. Score of subjects mentioned on the page will also required to be entered by the candidate.
Step 5 - Exam details:
As per the option chosen by a candidate in the starting of the registration for MHT CET 2016 Counselling through CAP, candidates have to enter the exam details out of MHT CET 2016 or JEE Main 2016 in this step.
Step 6 - Uploading Scanned Images:
Candidates will be required to upload their signature and scanned photograph with the following specifications:
The scanned images of Photograph and Signature should be in jpg/jpeg/png format.
Size of the Photograph Image must be greater than 4 KB and less than 100 KB.
Size of the Signature Image must be greater than 1 KB and less than 30 KB.
Image Dimension of Photograph should be 3.5 CM (width) * 4.5 CM (Height) only.
Image Dimension of Signature should be 3.5 CM (width) * 1.5 CM (Height) only.
Ensure that the scanned images of Photograph and Signature is of good quality.
Using 'BROWSE' button to set your scanned images path and click 'PREVIEW' button to verify your images before uploading.
Step 7 - Fee Payment:
As per their category and candidateure type, candidates will be required to pay the fee in online mode for the Counselling of MHT CET through Centralised Admission Process.Fee details for various categories can be checked by candidates below:
General Category Candidates , Outside Maharashtra State Candidate and Children of Indian workers in Gulf Countries
Reserved Category candidates from Maharashtra State and Persons with Disability candidates from Maharashtra

Important points related to MH CET / MHT CET Counselling:
Candidates have to fill in their choices of colleges during MHT CET Counselling by signing in through their Login ID.
The candidate will be informed about his/her seat allotment either through the registered email ID or through SMS over the registered phone number.
During the MHT CET Counselling process, the candidates are required to undergo document verification, photo and signature verification, etc.
Candidates need to report to the reporting centres or to the allotted colleges within the specified time and date, failing which the candidate may loose his/her seat from that college.
For the counselling process of MHT CET , the candidates may accompany their parent or guardian.

Note: Biology is for Medical aspirants, and Mathematics is for Engineering/Pharmacy.
The Question paper will be available in English, Marathi or Urdu.
For each correct answer, the candidate will get 1 mark and as per Maharastra Government's decision of removing the negative marking last year, there will be no deduction of marks when a wrong/junk answer is encountered.
Candidate must be a citizen of India and he must have passed class XII with at least 45% aggregate (40% for PwD, SC, ST candidates of the state) from Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. He must also score non-zero marks in MHT CET 2017 Exam in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together.
