AP EAMCET 2017(Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada for candidates who wish to pursue engineering courses across several state engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has announced AP Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) 2017. Earlier, the entrance exam was supposed to be held by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada on May 5, 2016. Till 2014, EAMCET was a common and combined exam for both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states, and it is only from 2015 that Andhra Pradesh conducts its separate exam - AP EAMCET, whereas Telanagana conducts TS EAMCET separately for its respective states.
Admissions to candidates will be given basis their scores in AP EAMCET 2017. The qualifying percentage of marks for the AP EAMCET 2017 will tentatively be 25% of the maximum marks considered for ranking. However, in case of candidates from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories, no minimum qualifying marks is prescribed. But their admission will depend on the extent of seats reserved for such categories.
The Exam Pattern of AP EAMCET 2017 will be based on three subjects - Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.; AP EAMCET 2017 will have a total of 160 questions, from which 80 will be of Mathematics, 40 of Chemistry and the last 40 of Physics.; All these questions will be objective type.; Each question will carry one mark.
Candidates are required to be of Indian Nationality or Persons of India Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders, provided they meet the specified criteria. Applicants are required to belong to Andhra Pradesh and should satisfy the Local or Non-Local status as per the requirements of the Andhra Pradesh Education Institutions order, 1974. Candidates must obtain a minimum score of 45% in 10+2 (40% for the reserved category) to meet the Eligibility Criteria of AP EAMCET 2017; Candidates are required to have passed Intermediate Exam or equivalent with Mathematics and Physics as main subjects along with Bio-Technology or Chemistry or Biology as the optional subjects.; Candidates should have completed 16 years of age, as on December 31 of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.. For B.Tech. (Ag. Engineering), B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.Tech. (FS & T), the applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission and an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates. The upper age limit for SC/ST Candidates is 25 years
