Aspirants, who are looking to apply for ICAI CPT, must go through the CA CPT eligibility criteria 2016, so that they know their eligibility for the coveted exam before applying for the same. Only those candidates can apply for CA CPT, who have already registered themselves with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the programme and fulfill the required eligibility criteria of ICAI CPT 2016.

The CA CPT 2016 is conducted in two sessions (100 marks each) of two hours each. In the first session, the test contains two sections: Section A (Fundamentals of Accounting with 60 marks) and Section B (Mercantile Laws with 40 marks). In the second session, the test is again divided in two sections: Section C (General Economics with 50 marks) and Section D (Quantitative Aptitude with 50 marks
Students must have passed Standard X examination or equivalent and they must have registered with the Board of Studies to appear in the CPT after appearing in the Class XII examination.
Candidates, who have passed B.Com, M.Com, LLB, ICWA, CS or MBA in their first attempt, are also eligible to appear the exam.
The aspirants, who have appeared or are appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam, are also eligible to appear in the exam.
Any candidate, who has got themselves registered for CPT on or before April 1 and October 1 to appear in the examination conducted in June and December respectively each year, is eligible.
