Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University conducts Vellore Institute of Technology Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE) to offer admissions to candidates in its Masters programmes. Through this entrance exam candidates can secure admissions in VIT University Vellore and Chennai campus. Apart from VITMEE, candidates can also secure admissions at VIT University MTech courses on the basis of their GATE scores. MTech programmes are offered at VIT School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE), School of Bio Sciences and Technology (SBST), School of Mechanical and Building Sciences (SMBS), School of Electrical Engineering (SELECT), School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE) and School of Electronics Engineering (SENSE). The University offers 20 Undergraduate, 34 Postgraduate, 4 Integrated Programmes and 4 Research programmes. In addition to full-time/part-time PhD, MS (by research) Degrees in Engineering and Management Disciplines, MPhil, PhD, in Science and Languages, Integrated PhD programmes also offered for engineering disciplines in selected schools. Interested candidates can purchase the application forms from selected post offices as mentioned on the official website of VIT University. The application forms can even be obtained through post. Candidates can also apply for VITMEE online. Aspirants need to upload their photograph and signature (as per specifications) when filling their VITMEE 2017 application form online. Candidates need to take a printout of their filled VITMEE 2016 Online Application Form which they need to send to the University.
VITMEE 2017 Application Fee; Candidates need to pay their application fee for VITMEE by either of these mediums: DD/Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card. Candidates who pay the application fee for this MTech entrance exam through DD need to mention their name, application number, address and mobile number on the back side of their DD and send this DD with the printout of their filled-in VITMEE 2017 online application form.
Note: Admissions at VIT University are done through counseling, depending on the rank secured by a candidate in VITMEE 2017. However, preference will be given to any candidate who has a better GATE score and is seeking MTech admission at VIT University. Candidates will not have to appear for any entrance exam in order to secure admission in VIT University MTech programme in Software Engineering. Admissions in this course will be done through a counseling round. Candidates will be called for counseling on the basis of a merit list which will be formed on the below-mentioned criteria. Aggregate marks secured by a candidate in their 10+2/ Higher Secondary Examination for UG / MSc Biotechnology (5 year integrated) programme. Total marks secured by the candidate in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics in their 10+2/Higher Secondary Examination for MTech (Software Engineering).
VITMEE 2017 exam pattern: This MTech entrance examination of VIT University will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT). VITMEE 2017 comprises of 110 questions. However, the maximum marks a candidate can secure are 100.
Marking: VITMEE 2017 does not have any negative marking. Candidates will secure one mark for every question attempted correctly by them.
Candidates need to fulfill multiple eligibility criteria to apply for admissions through VITMEE. The minimum eligibility criteria for MTech programme admissions through this entrance exam are as follows:
Should have graduated (with a full-time degree) from any recognized University with minimum aggregate of 60% for MCA admissions and 50% marks for MTech degree programme admissions. Candidates who are to appear in their final degree exam/ final semester examination in the current year can also apply for VITMEE 2017. Candidates would be eligible for admissions only if they have completed their final Semester or final year examinations before the selection interview is conducted at VIT University.
Note: Candidates selected for admissions need to submit their final year mark sheet as well as provisional degree certificate before August 17. If any candidate is not able to fulfill this eligibility criterion for VITMEE 2017, his/her admission will stand cancelled. Candidates need to possess minimum academic qualification in order to meet the eligibility criteria for VITMEE.
